Ingredients of Chickpea Tofu
  • 6 chopped carrot
  • 2 inches finely chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoon coconut milk
  • 4 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 3 cup veg stock
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • salt as required
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • How to make Chickpea Tofu (Steps)
  • Wash the chickpeas well and soak them overnight in a bowl of water.
  • The next morning, wash the chickpeas well under running water. Add the soaked chickpeas to a bowl along with 2 cups of water. Blend well in batches to form a smooth mixture..
  • Place a sieve on a bowl and line it with muslin cloth. Pour the chickpeas mixture and strain it. Make a potli with the muslin cloth and squeeze out all the liquid from it.
  • Pour the chickpea water into a pot and keep it on high flame. Once a boil comes, lower the flame to medium. Keep stirring in between to prevent the mixture from sticking at the bottom. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or till it thickens.
  • Let the mixture cool down a bit and then transfer to a glass container. Level it properly and set it aside. it might take 2-3 hours for the tofu to set completely.
  • Once firm, your Chickpea Tofu is ready to be used. Take it out of the container, chop into pieces and use in recipe of your choice.
